Good afternoon all, and welcome to the end of another week. This week has been a long, hard, and emotional one. There’s a part of me that didn’t want to do a blog, but I also recognize that life must continue moving forward.
With that in mind, I want to celebrate new developments at BDP.
This week, we welcome new author Julianna Mechowska to Blue Dandelion Press, LLC. While Julianna’s writing style and genre vary from other authors represented by BDP, having differing stories is important to us and bringing Julianna onboard is just one example of this!
We believe that everyone has a story to tell if they wish to, and it may not follow the same path as others. Recognizing an individual’s writing voice and style gives validation to their imagination, and that is what truly matters in a passion writing project.
With that in mind, we developed a new imprint under the Blue Dandelion Press name: Asterid.

Asterids are a large subgrouping of plants and include thousands of plant species. Okay, great, why does that matter? Well, in addition to the various harmless plants that can be used as food, Asterids also include plants like oleander, a beautiful and deadly flower. Remembering, not all stories are happily-ever-afters and romantic aspirations, keeps us grounded, and Asterid is a perfect example of the darkness that can sometimes hide in beauty.
The first ever novel to fall under the Asterid imprint is The Opened Tomb. The Opened Tomb is Julianna Mechowska’s debut novel, and at over 700 pages, it is an impressive debut to be certain! Based loosely around the tale of Dracula and Romanian mythology, this book delves into difficult subjects including love, loss, and redemption. This book includes adult content and should be read by those prepared to experience intense emotion.

An enemies-to-lovers, love triangle, slow burn, The Opened Tomb caters to those who enjoy a little romance with their gothic horror and thrills.
The Opened Tomb releases on e-book and paperback on July 28, 2025, BUT, you can get your e-book pre-ordered TODAY: https://a.co/d/fOVVioR
